Halloween

This year Keira was pretty adamant that we not carve a scary face pumpkin. Our conversations about carving the pumpkins would go like this" Me "Keira should we carve a scary face pumpkin?" Keira "NO! a Happy Face Pumpkin!" So we carved a Happy Face Pumpkin and a Scary Bat.

Keria was very excited about being Snow White this year! She talked about it, and asked to wear her dress almost every day this month!! I am finding out that it is very hard to get a good picture of our two year old, just more interesting things to do than pose for boring old Mom! ;) In the pictures of Keira sitting in her Rocking Chair, she was actually watching The Great Pumpkin Charlie Brown (which has been a favorite for the past few days) and laughing at Snoopy so I jumped at the chance to get her smiling and staying still! and actually got some pretty good shots! :)

Fun with a Caterpillar

Conference Weekend in between sessions, Sarah took the kids outside to play and they discovered a Caterpillar! As you will see in the video they would take turns poking it and then screaming, but we got them to stay still long enough to hold it for a little while at least!

National Air and Space Museum

On October 2nd we visited the National Air and Space Museum. For me (Jon) it was one of the most interesting parts of our trip so far. This is a shot from the simulated air control tower towards Dulles Airport.

The Enola Gay, this plane dropped the first atomic bomb used in combat on Hiroshima, Japan.

One of the first prototypes of a plane, this one proved to not be very engineerically sound.
Obviously there were hundreds of other planes that were fascinating, way too many to put on here. This photo represents Keira's most memorable part of the trip because Thomas dropped his toy plane over this rail, we got the toy back but Keira has been mentioning Thomas's airplane falling and that it is broken for a couple weeks now.
