Washington Vacation

There are so many things to do here in Washington, Jon and I have been wanting to do a lot of them. So when my parents said they were coming, we got very excited finally we had a reason to do them. So Thank You! Mom and Dad, it really was fun! We of course didn't have time to do all the things we wanted to do, but we did get to do some pretty cool things.

The Duck Tour: This took us around Seattle. Both on land and in water. Our Captain, Captain "Rocky Bottom" is actually a real Captain. I guess it is really hard to become a "Duck" Operator. You have to be Coast Guard Certified, among other things. "Rocky Bottom" is just a nick name. (Hmmm wonder how he got it?) Anyway we got to see some Historical Sites, A home that was used in Sleepless in Seattle, A Car Wash that I think Elvis filmed a Movie at, and The Deadliest Catch Boats. All of witch were pretty cool!

North West Trek: This was like a Wild Like Preserve. All of the Land was donated. (I can't remember the family's name though.) I think a lot of the Animals are rescued, and they try very hard to keep it as close to living in the wild as possible. So while we were on the Tram, (the guided part of the NW Trek), we couldn't stick out hand outside or wave or really do anything that could draw the animals attention to us.

Multnomah Falls: The Falls were on the way back to the Portland Airport. We thought this would be a fun activity to do before my parents went home. The pictures do not do this Waterfall justice! It is beautiful there! I must clarify on of the pictures that I took. The picture looking down at one of the falls. It was just the camera that was looking down, not me. I just aimed the Camera down and luckily got a pretty cool shot!

9 Month Pictures

We took Keira in for her 9 month old pictures yesterday, these are our favorites.
Keira is teething, so she was a little grumpy in the begging and almost wouldn't let me put her down, but as you can see it all worked out in the end, the photographer is very good at what she does and is good with children, she had Keira smiling from ear to ear in no time at all. (we were only there for about 30 min.) After we were done taking pictures the photographer said that Keira had done just as well as a five year old she had in earlier! Way to go Keira!

9 Months and a Dream Diet

WOW! I can't believe that our little girl is 9 months old! I took her to her 9 month well baby check up today, she weighed in at a whopping 15 pounds 1 oz and is 26 1/2 inches long. That puts her below the 3rd percentile for her weight and in the 18th percentile for height. So to hopefully put some pounds on her we are to feed her things like french fries (as much has she wants), avocado mixed with sour cream (the 100% fat kind), bread slathered in butter (so she will eat it) and olive oil in her food. With the exception of the olive oil in food, wouldn't it be nice if we could eat like that? Her doctor actually isn't worried to much about her weight as much as her proportions, I guess her weight is not proportionate to her height, so her doctor is wanting to even that out a little.
It has been so much fun to see her grow up, and to watch the excitment in her eyes as she is learning new things, as you know she is crawling and getting into everything!, especially snoopies food and toys. She is pulling herself up, furniture cruising, walking when we hold her hands, and she actually took a couple steps backward today, (while I was holding her hands of course.) We are not expecting her to but we are thinking that she might be walking by Halloween. We are both excited and terrified at the same time that she might be walking soon.
