Lincoln's Home

The Front of the Lincoln Home. The Lincoln's son donated the his house to the city of Springfield on the condition that they would kept it up and that it would always be free for people to tour. The city of Springfield turned it over to the Parks and Recreation Division who oversee tours and make sure the house stays in good repair.

Inside the Lincoln Home. A lot of the stuff inside is from the era of the Lincoln's but original to the house, because after Lincoln was elected president, they sold most of the stuff in it and rented the house to a banker. Most of their stuff however has been returned.

A hat just like Lincoln uses to wear.

This dress was dyed with arsenic. So if you sweat at all you would slowly be poisoned.

Outside and back yard of the Lincoln home.

The outhouse. Can you imagine using these and getting a sliver? Ouch!!
This whole block is Historical, although most of the houses are just used as offices.
